Match report
7th February 2010
Malvern U14s 36 - Ledbury U14s 17
Yet another occasion when the scoreline flatters the victors, and Ledbury come away with less than they should have. Malvern capitalised early in the game and went 29 points ahead before Ledbury really started to play rugby.Turnover ball and bad tackling cost the team dearly, but the spirit shown in the second half gives hope. The second half was won 19 - 7, and tries from Matthew Hand, Ali Martin and Harry Wilkins was reward for excellent rucking and mauling. Too many times simple errors appeared in the game, and indecision at the breakdown saw too much possession lost. Basic handling and tackling with the shoulder are high on the agenda for the next training session, but a win will give confidence and see the team progress.
