Silhillians U 15`s 12 : Ledbury U15`s 26.
Ledbury u15`s travelled up to a soggy Birmingham to play Silhillians on Sunday morning after a break for two weeks.
Monsoon like conditions cleared away by the start of the game for the two side to show what they could do.
Ledbury established some early dominance in the scrum with good hooking from Calum Duguid with James Limbrick and Mike Jeffryes providing the grunt in the boilerhouse.
Fly half David Nash ignited the match when he arced out wide to the wing and round a chasing band of tacklers to come back in under the posts for a sizzling try.
The second try came when Bryn Edwards popped up in the Silhillian backs to intercept a pass and whizz like a rocket half the length of the pitch for an unopposed touch down.
The half was finished off in explosive manner when crash ball expert Anthony Chung took the ball from a tap penalty and smashed his way over the home line at close range for a resounding try.
The fire went out of Ledbury a little at Half time and Silhillians ran in a couple of fine tries of their own before a smouldering Ledbury caught light again with some terrific tackling from Luke Johnson and man of the match Jonty Cutter. The pack were able to rumble forward once more with dynamic thrusts from Louis Woods, Peter Dixon and Will English to give a platform for David Nash to fire a monstrous kick skywards from half way. When the ball eventually cam down, it was into Dave Nash`s hands and he was able to bullock his way under the posts despite some heavy traffic for his second try.
Dan Fletcher was able to pot his third successful conversion to bring the score to 26 for Ledbury.
This was a pleasing win for Ledbury especially as it was a chance to try some different combinations with Will Barber-Starkey and Connor Barber-Starkey and Tim Owen gamely having a go at different positions.
