Match report 18 August 2007 Good start for Ledbury Men Saturday saw the eagerly anticipated pre-season triangular tournament take place at Ross Road. The home side opened the season with the first tie against Hereford, Ledbury dominated and controlled the majority of the game and ran out comfortable winners by 22 – 0. The second game saw Ludlow take on Hereford and Ludlow took the spoils with an easy win. The last game was a tough battle with Ledbury & Ludlow trying to play running rugby despite the arduous conditions. Ledbury opened the scoring and led 7 – 0 at half time. Ludlow came back into the game and scored three late tries to take the win. This was a very good start to the season for the Ledbury boys who showed full commitment and a real desire to play open rugby despite the wet conditions. Ledbury used thirty four players throughout the afternoon which is very encouraging in terms of strength & depth. A lot of players have put their hands up for places for the coming season. Next week Ledbury take a 25 man squad to Lydney to play their Development Xv with the 2nds & 3rd visiting greyhound.
