Strength & Conditioning Training
Strength & Conditioning training is another initiative that will commence this season. This is open to all players from the under 15`s age group through to senior players. The training will be technique based and will provide a solid platform for players to develop from, over the months and years ahead.
The strength and conditioning programme is aimed at teaching players the fundamentals of various Olympic lifts such as power clean, front squat, back squat, bench press and dead lifts. The programme will be predominantly technique based and individuals will be taught about the principles of training, health & safety issues and also discipline in the gym environment. From previous strength & conditioning programmes that I have conducted the results have been very positive, as players gain valuable experience, enjoy the training and gain confidence not only as a rugby player but as an individual.
These programmes are taking place up and down the country through other pro-active and professional clubs. It is important that we as a club provide the opportunity for our players to keep up physically and mentally with other ambitious and dedicated rugby players.
The programme will take place on Wednesday nights from 7:30pm beginning the middle of October, please speak to myself for further details on this matter, and liaise with your coaches to find out start date for your age grades programme.

I would like to thank Barry Connelly of Hercules House Ltd for sponsoring the Strength & Conditioning programme.
