Vets & BadgersWelcome to the Veteran’s page, this page is dedicated to our slightly more mature players of 35 years of age or over. Some of the guys who fall into this bracket still regularly feature every Saturday amongst the squad’s of our three main senior teams. However my task as Veteran’s organiser is to arrange a hand full of fixtures throughout the season against other veteran’s teams who prefer a slightly more sedate game of rugby, usually on a Sunday afternoon, well that’s the theory anyway, experience has shown us that some of these veteran fixtures can be keenly fought affairs and the standard of rugby exceptionally good. We would welcome any new veteran players whether they are ex Ledbury players or played their senior rugby elsewhere, also everyone is welcome no matter what standard of rugby they have previously played, veteran’s rugby is about having fun, camaraderie and the sheer enjoyment of the game we have all loved for so many years!!! On our last outing we faced a Berry Hill side which included three ex Gloucester 1st team players, it was an exceptionally good encounter played at a faster pace than many of us would have liked, however despite the obvious talent on show in the Berry Hill squad, our Ledbury boys acquitted themselves very well producing a good display of running rugby and awesome defence, however the talent finally took it’s toll and we went down five tries to two, a good time was had by all in the bar afterwards!
